Event Details

Are you ready for a free day of Open web and standards-oriented talks and discussion with local, national and internationally recognized speakers? Do you want to lend your own voice to the day? Then you won't want to miss Standards.Next Philadelphia!

Comcast Interactive Media and Opera Software are very excited to invite you to participate in a day exploring HTML5, CSS3, SVG and other emerging technologies. There is an emphasis on large-scale application and site development and management, but the topic coverage is in step with what Web designers and developers need to know today about how to manage the increasingly complex demands that emerging tech places upon us.

We are pleased to feature several noted speakers, including Kimberly Blessing, Molly E. Holzschlag, Jenn Lukas, Steven Schumacher, and Mike Taylor. Each will present an aspect of Web standards technology as it applies to real-world cases.

The day includes slots for community speakers, so come on time and sign up to give a talk of your own!

We'll also enjoy a free lunch, and top off the day with Happy Hour from 5 'til late, with great beer and food (buy your own) and plenty of geekery at Philly's own historic bar and restaurant, National Mechanics on 22 South 3rd St., Philadelphia PA 19106.
